world class care.
our mission
“At Elevation Physical and Occupational Therapy, we continuously seek to challenge the status quo. Our team is committed to create an uplifting, encouraging and positive atmosphere to everyone. Elevation instills hometown values in all aspects of the patient experience, while offering a standard of care which always exceeds expectations. Our goal is not simply to get you out of pain and restore your quality of life. We focus on the big picture by empowering every person to take control of their condition, so that they have the tools to prevent it from returning.” - Jimmy Corum DPT
Who we are
Founded by Bell County native Dr. Jimmy Corum, DPT, COMT, Cert. MDT, CIDN, Elevation Physical and Occupational Therapy was built on a simple but powerful belief: hometown communities deserve world-class care.
What began as one provider’s commitment to serving the Appalachian region has grown into a network of clinics united by that same mission. Along the way, Elevation joined forces with fellow locally owned practices, Apex Physical Therapy and Pinnacle Performance Physical Therapy—clinics led by like-minded physical therapists who share a passion for delivering exceptional care and investing in the communities they serve.
Together, this collaboration has strengthened our ability to provide advanced, evidence-based treatment while staying deeply rooted in the values that started it all. Every Elevation clinic reflects the same standard of care, hands-on approach, and commitment to putting people and community first.

Certifications & Specialty services
-
This certification focuses on hands-on treatment of the musculoskeletal system — joints, muscles, and connective tissue.
A PT with COMT training has advanced education in:
Joint mobilization and manipulation
Spine and extremity assessment
Biomechanics
Manual therapy techniques for pain and movement dysfunction
It’s common for PTs who treat back pain, neck pain, shoulder injuries, etc., to pursue this.
-
This refers to certification in the McKenzie Method (also called MDT).
MDT focuses on:
Identifying mechanical patterns of pain (especially spine pain)
Repeated movement testing
Directional preference (finding movements that reduce symptoms)
Patient self-treatment and independence
PTs with this credential are often very skilled in treating disc-related back and neck pain.
-
This means the therapist is trained in dry needling techniques for muscle trigger points and neuromuscular dysfunction.
Dry needling is used for:
Muscle tightness
Chronic pain
Trigger points
Movement dysfunction
It involves inserting thin filiform needles into muscle tissue to reduce tension and improve function (different from traditional acupuncture philosophy).
-
Our therapists have specialized training in evaluating and treating pelvic floor dysfunction, addressing conditions that affect bladder, bowel, and sexual health, as well as core stability.
Pelvic floor therapy is an evidence-informed approach used to help manage:
Urinary incontinence (leakage)
Urgency and frequency
Pelvic pain
Postpartum recovery
Pain with activity or intercourse
Core weakness and instability
Treatment focuses on restoring proper coordination, strength, and relaxation of the pelvic floor muscles, which play a key role in supporting internal organs and maintaining continence.
Interventions may include targeted exercises, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, and patient education to improve function and quality of life. Care is always individualized, discreet, and performed in a comfortable, private setting.
-
Our LightForce Laser Therapy System delivers targeted, non-invasive treatment for pain and tissue healing.
LightForce laser therapy is an evidence-informed treatment used to help manage:
Acute and chronic pain
Muscle strains and ligament sprains
Tendonitis and bursitis
Joint inflammation
Post-surgical healing
Soft tissue injuries
This therapy uses specific wavelengths of light to penetrate tissue and stimulate cellular activity, promoting increased blood flow, reduced inflammation, and accelerated healing.
Treatment is quick, painless, and requires no downtime. It is often used in combination with therapeutic exercise and manual therapy to enhance recovery and improve overall function.
-
The AlterG Anti-Gravity Treadmill supports safe, controlled return to walking and running.
AlterG therapy is an evidence-informed approach used to help manage:
Post-surgical rehabilitation (knee, hip, ankle)
Lower extremity injuries
Stress fractures
Arthritis-related pain
Gait abnormalities
Return-to-running programs
The AlterG uses differential air pressure technology to reduce body weight during walking or running, allowing patients to move with less pain and stress on joints and tissues.
This enables earlier mobility, improved gait mechanics, and a gradual progression back to full weight-bearing activity. Treatment is comfortable, precise, and tailored to each patient’s recovery and performance goals.
-
SoloStep therapy is an evidence-informed approach used to help manage:
Balance and stability deficits
Fall risk and fall prevention
Neurological conditions (stroke, Parkinson’s disease, etc.)
Gait and mobility impairments
Post-surgical or post-injury instability
Fear of falling
The SoloStep system utilizes an overhead harness and track to safely support patients during movement, allowing them to perform challenging balance and walking activities without the risk of falling.
This creates a safe environment to build confidence, improve coordination, and restore functional mobility. Therapy can be progressed more aggressively and effectively, helping patients return to daily activities with greater independence.
-
BFR training is an evidence-informed approach used to help manage:
Muscle weakness and atrophy
Post-surgical recovery
Joint pain limiting heavy lifting
Tendon and ligament injuries
Return-to-sport strengthening
General deconditioning
BFR involves the application of a specialized cuff to partially restrict blood flow to a limb while performing low-load exercises. This allows patients to achieve the benefits of high-intensity strength training using significantly lighter weights.
The result is improved muscle strength, increased muscle size, and enhanced recovery—all while reducing stress on joints and healing tissues. Treatment is carefully monitored and individualized to ensure safety and effectiveness.
-
Functional strength classes are an evidence-informed approach used to help:
Improve strength and endurance
Enhance balance and coordination
Restore movement after injury or surgery
Prevent future injuries
Increase confidence with daily activities
Support long-term health and wellness
These classes focus on movements that translate directly to real-life activities—such as lifting, reaching, bending, and walking—helping individuals build strength that carries over into everyday function.
While many participants join with no injuries, these classes are often recommended for patients transitioning out of physical therapy who want to continue progressing toward a healthier, more active lifestyle.
All exercises are guided by trained professionals and can be modified to match any fitness level, ensuring a safe, effective, and supportive environment regardless of age or experience.
